Asuka Eguchi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at UCI. For her postdoctoral fellowship, she studied Duchenne muscular dystrophy with Helen Blau, Ph.D. As a graduate student, she developed tools to interrogate transcriptional networks that control cell fate decisions under the mentorship of Aseem Ansari, Ph.D. Her current research interests include DNA repair pathways that may be disrupted in inherited cardiomyopathies and gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
